Managing Director Alexander Golesworthy has a wealth of experience in forestry management. Alec originally trained in commercial valuation surveying and rural practice surveying to become a Chartered Surveyor.
Following graduation Alec focussed on his interest in forestry and whilst working in Suffolk on planting schemes, he met his future business partner and wife Victoria. During this time the concept to create a timber marketing business was founded.
In 1995 with Victoria’s support and her expertise in Business and Marketing, Timberpride Limited launched with a Prince’s Trust loan. Armed with a mentor from the Trust, Alec and Victoria started their business in Gloucestershire to take advantage of the West Country’s superior woodland.
The business is now a thriving success that prides itself on high quality timber, in-house machining capability and exemplary customer service. Alec and Victoria have two young sons who are already adept in the workings of the timber trade and will continue the family business for many years to come. Alec is regularly invited to speak at schools and colleges and is keen to pass his knowledge of environmental practices and business economics on to future generations.
