Solid Oak Flooring
Carefully chosen and fitted, a bespoke solid oak floor from Timberpride will last and look beautiful for hundreds of years. It can even prove an investment – selling many, many years from now for more than you paid for it in a reclamation yard. And with no middle-man you might be surprised how affordable oak can be, particularly when priced against underlay and quality carpeting.
The key to getting the most from oak, like much else in life, is down to preparation. We’ve been making flooring for some of the most skilled woodworking professionals in Europe for 20 years and we are here to pass on our knowledge and theirs to ensure every floor performs perfectly.
Details matter – things like the floor construction, the use of underfloor heating and the moisture content of the house – particularly where new cement or plaster is present. But it’s nothing that oak and Timberpride hasn’t come across before and we’ll advise on all technical and aesthetic aspects, so we and you get it right first time.
It’s why our tongue and groove profile is designed to enable secret screwing. Why boards should be acclimatised in a room for a minimum of 1 week before laying. Why we recommend traditional oil finishes applied in thin layers and why, sometimes, it can help to also oil the underside of boards.
Grades and sizes
We use the standard European grades for our flooring, so you can select the grade and appearance you want cut from QBa (superb), QB1 (luxury joinery) or QB2 (character). 2-6m lengths are available in widths up to 250mm.
Click and buy is not our style but short lead times and a superb result are.
