What we do…
Our work involves milling oak sawlogs, direct from the forest, into beams for manufacture into oak frame buildings. We produce our own joinery oak, seasoned and dried to be used in joinery manufacture. The whole process from the forest, design and making oak frames is handled in-house, on-site, in Tetbury.
Roles within the role:
Framing, joinery, raising and glazing on site – this is what we do – however there are all the yard jobs that support the framing and joinery;
o Milling
o Chipping
o Waste management
o Stock control
o Seasoning and drying joinery
o Fueling the boiler
o Maintenance
o Peg making
o and many other tasks.
You need to be positive, willing and have an eye for accuracy.

Chainsaw

Forklift / Tele-handler
Welding
Training is provided in all aspects of this role.
For the right person there is training in Oak Framing and Joinery.
Purpose and Scope of the Role
• Processing oak for framing, joinery and Bio-mass uses
• To maintain efficient, tidy, safe and timely activities of the sawmill and yard.
• Continuous machine and equipment maintenance
• Fuelling and running Bio-mass Boiler
• Keeping grounds tidy and maintained.
• Working with the team on domestic and building sites raising and glazing frames as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
• Operate bandsaw as trained
o Selection, milling and grading of structural and joinery oak.
o Recording output and stock, organising stock.
o Storing oak boards in stick for Air drying and loading the kiln.
• Support framing and joinery where directed, make pegs, chip waste.
• Maintaining organisation of the yard, waste wood, chipping and boiler
• Machines and equipment maintenance
• Sitework – raising and glazing frames, other work as necessary.
• Assist with keeping the grounds of Timberpride neat and tidy.
• To maintain and follow good housekeeping practices throughout the Mill.
Hours: 8am to 5pm
One hour for breaks
Monday to Friday
Pay is commensurate with skill and good performance.
