We source British-grown oak saw logs, which we mill, grade, season, and kiln on-site for use in traditional oak framing and bespoke joinery. From timber selection to installation, we handle the process end-to-end — and we’re looking for a skilled individual to join our growing team.

The Role:

You’ll be producing bespoke doors and windows in our joinery workshop, supporting oak frame carpentry both in the workshop and during on-site frame raisings, installations, and glazing. The role also involves contributing to technical design work, including:

  • Creating design drawings and working sketches.
  • Detailing specifications, material estimates and job briefs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ joinery experience
  • Understanding of building and construction practices
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a team-focused mindset
  • Patience and ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Confident with basic and applied mathematics
  • Eagerness to learn about oak framing and traditional building methods

Desirable Skills (Training Can Be Provided):

  • Proficiency with SketchUp or other CAD software
  • Forklift or Telehandler certification
  • Chainsaw operation experience

Bandsaw and Yard Operative

We are looking for an additional member of staff to join our growing team.
All our people become multi-skilled, are energetic and thrive on a challenge.

What we do…

We are oak framers and saw millers.

Timberpride’s work involves milling oak sawlogs, which come direct from the forest, into beams for manufacture into oak frame buildings. We produce our own joinery oak, seasoned and dried to be used in joinery manufacture. The whole process from forest, design and making oak frames is handled in-house, on-site, in Tetbury.

This is an outdoor role, it is challenging with a mix of repetitive tasks and variety, you will need the ability to trouble -shoot and focus on the task in hand. A keen awareness of the work environment and understanding of health and safety.

Roles within the role:

Framing, joinery, raising and glazing on site – this is what we do – however there are all the yard jobs that support the framing and joinery;

o Milling
o Chipping
o Waste management
o Stock control
o Seasoning and drying joinery
o Fueling the boiler
o Maintenance
o Peg making
o and many other tasks.

You need to be positive, willing and have an eye for accuracy.

Skills & Experience

Ideal but not essential:

Chainsaw
Woodworking
Forklift / Tele-handler
Welding

Training is provided in all aspects of this role.
For the right person there is training in Oak Framing and Joinery.

Purpose and Scope of the Role

• Processing oak for framing, joinery and Bio-mass uses
• To maintain efficient, tidy, safe and timely activities of the sawmill and yard.
• Continuous machine and equipment maintenance
• Fuelling and running Bio-mass Boiler
• Keeping grounds tidy and maintained.
• Working with the team on domestic and building sites raising and glazing frames as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate bandsaw as trained
o Selection, milling and grading of structural and joinery oak.
o Recording output and stock, organising stock.
o Storing oak boards in stick for Air drying and loading the kiln.
• Support framing and joinery where directed, make pegs, chip waste.
• Maintaining organisation of the yard, waste wood, chipping and boiler
• Machines and equipment maintenance
• Sitework – raising and glazing frames, other work as necessary.
• Assist with keeping the grounds of Timberpride neat and tidy.
• To maintain and follow good housekeeping practices throughout the Mill.

This list is not exhaustive, the needs of a small business require flexibility in your role.

Hours: 8am to 5pm
One hour for breaks
Monday to Friday

Pay is commensurate with skill and good performance.
